Literacy Challenge leads to book written by children
The inaugural Literacy Challenge was held in Southern Grampians in July and August 2019 and aimed to foster a positive attitude towards reading and writing in the region. The Literacy Challenge featured community workshops, events and professional learning opportunities.
Creative Write-It workshops encouraged reluctant primary school aged writers to engage in storytelling. Six workshops were held in six schools in Southern Grampians, with 69 students from Grade 3-6 involved.
The result? A book titled ‘One Day We Will Box Jump The Moon’. Have a read below.
These workshops were delivered thanks to funding from The R E Ross Trust and in partnership with The Greater Hamilton Library and Wooly West Fest.
