Beyond the Bell plays a leading role in youth advocacy and education reform across South West Victoria, championing systemic change to improve outcomes for young people. Our approach is grounded in place-based evidence, ensuring that local experiences inform efforts to reduce educational disadvantage, support student wellbeing, and increase access to education.
Through research, policy submissions, and direct government engagement, we amplify youth voices and community priorities in decision-making. This work shapes education policy, influences funding decisions, and drives systemic change across the region.
We coordinate advocacy that responds to regional priorities, collaborate on public inquiries and advisory committees, and partner with local organisations to strengthen sector capability. Our team produces data-informed submissions, delivers evidence-based briefings and reports, and provides insights to ministers, government departments, and peak bodies. Beyond the Bell also represents the Great South Coast in national education advisory forums, ensuring the region has a strong voice in shaping reform.
As a result, we are seeing greater recognition of the region’s challenges and opportunities, stronger youth inclusion in decision-making, and an enhanced collaborative voice across the education and community sectors. The demand for local data, insights, and lived experience continues to grow, positioning Beyond the Bell as a trusted partner in informing state and federal education reform.
